Zion Williamson shares what is the main difference between the NBA and college basketball

Zion Williamson is about to embark on his NBA journey this Friday in his first game for the New Orleans Pelicans in Las Vegas. Tickets for the game are already sold out and it will be a unique opportunity for the fans to see Zion play in a bit different environment and rules he is used to.

After his practice on Tuesday, Zion sat down with reporters and shared his view on the upcoming challenges he will face but also how different NBA game is to a college game. Zion said the spacing is the key difference which goes hand in hand with his explosiveness and leaping ability.

“I do like the spacing a lot more. You can’t just stay in the paint so it gives me a lot of room to operate. The defense is also different because I am used to always helping and you can’t really do that in this league.”

Zion believes the ability of NBA players to shoot the ball extremely well in comparison to college players is also a major difference because he won’t be able to help out as much as he did when playing for Duke.

“The three-point land creates more spacing because everybody can shot so you can’t really help out much otherwise it’s an open three. I love the spacing, it’s a dream come true for me. “
