Kevin Durant responds to Scottie Pippen's criticism: 'THEY FOLLOWED PHIL, NOT YOU!

kd & pippen

In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, NBA legend Scottie Pippen shared his opinion on the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant, and the recent comparisons with LeBron James. Pippen proclaimed Durant is nowhere close to LeBron even though he is a great player in his own right.

I feel like he's always been this player. I see a lot of talk now going on about him surpassing LeBron James. Surpassing LeBron James takes a bit more individual effort. LeBron James is a complete team player that understands team and winning. Has KD got to that level yet? He went home.

The main thing that separates Durant and LeBron, according to Pippen, is the fact that LeBron proved on several occasions he can win no matter what team he played for in his career.

To say he surpassed LeBron, I think he still has some learning to do in terms of what it takes to will a team to victory. Give Brooklyn a lot of credit, they lost Kyrie, James Harden was probably less than 50 percent. He wasn't the same player.

It didn't take long for Durant to respond on his Twitter account where he said Pippen is the type of player that got mad because Phil Jackson didn't let him take the last shots in crucial games. On top of that, he added players were trusting Phil more than they did him.

It will be interesting to see if Pippen will respond to Durant and everything he said about him being a bad teammate when Pippen wasn't given the opportunity he thought he deservers. We'll see if this ends up being another Twitter beef between the two, but both made some valid points about each other.
