The untold story about Kobe Bryant meeting Tupac Shakur for the first time

Delray Richardson, who is a platinum songwriter and Tupac’s friend, recently shared a story about Kobe Bryant and Tupac Shakur meeting each other for the first time. It was on August 11th back in 1996 at the House of Blues.

According to Richardson, Tupac and Kobe never met before because of the fact Kobe just got to LA, and he was still a 17-year-old kid. It was Kobe that approached Tupac for the introduction because, at that time, the famous rapper was probably one of the most influential celebrities in show business, and he didn’t know who Kobe was.

“They meet. It wasn’t something deep or anything like that. More so, Kobe went to 2Pac because he probably didn’t know who Kobe was at the time. I remember he introduced himself and said, what’s up.”

Richardson also remembers how that night was terrific until the infamous beef between Tupac and Nas, who were both representing their respective labels. It was all apart of the east coast vs. west coast conflict that brought enormous attention in the mid-’90s.

Unfortunately, both Kobe and Tupac died way too young and perhaps never achieved their full potential even though they already made a tremendous impact on hip & hop and basketball. They were also essential for the city of Los Angeles.
