“Must they run their mouths like that? Unfortunately, a lot of kids and some adults take these ignorant comments seriously.” This was the worst sentence in a two-minute monologue by Laura Ingraham on Fox News, referring to LeBron James and Kevin Durant giving their opinions on Donald Trump. I won’t get into all the hypocrisy, racism and plain old ignorance of this monologue, but just for the record, I am an adult and I proudly take their comments seriously. For Fox News of all places to call out someone on “running their mouths” and implying they are not intellectually qualified to comment on certain issues. Gotta love the irony. In case you missed it, here is the entire monologue.

LeBron, being the high-school drop out that he is, respectfully responded, bringing the conversation back to the important topic. Accepting his position to represent so many young disenfranchised people, living the same life he used to live as a young man. Earlier this summer we saw LeBron open up the “I Promise” school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Free of charge with free uniforms, transportation and lunch, 240 at-risk kids who are lagging behind in their studies and struggling at home now have a guaranteed college tuition if they graduate. What a dumb jock, right?
Well seems LeBron didn’t take Laura Ingraham seriously because he is the executive producer of a three-part docu-series titled “Shut up and dribble” on the changing role of athletes in the current political environment. The series will explore the history of the NBA starting with the 1976 ABA merger up to modern day. The show will be giving insight into the lives of players as they developed to be more than just players, but businessmen in commerce and fashion, becoming cultural icons in the process.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the title is quite ironic and funny, but lucky for us we had Laura explain to us LeBron is a high-school drop-out so it can’t be that. He just knows how to dribble.
