Shaquille O’Neal thinks the Nets should trade Kyrie: ‘Get his ass out of here’

Shaquille O’Neal, who campaigned with Barack Obama to promote COVID vaccination, had some choice words for athletes who refuse vaccination. He explicitly mentions Irving on what he would do if he played for the Brooklyn Nets and on the same team with Kyrie Irving

With the mounting pressure from the media, fellow players, and NBA legends, will Irving and the other unvaccinated players finally consent to it?

Shaq wants the Brooklyn Nets to trade Kyrie Irving

O’Neal had some choice words for Irving in his interview with the CBS Sports Radio program Tiki & Tierney hosted by Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney. The Lakers legend believes the Nets are better off without Kyrie. When asked what the would do if Irving were his teammate in Brooklyn, he gave a scathing answer:

“I would go upstairs and say, ‘get (Kyrie) up out of here. Get him outta here. We can win with a two-punch and a great shooter and some rebounders like we got. Get his ass out of here. Every day I won’t answer questions about him and what he is doing; get his ass out of here. If I was on the team, of course, if I played with him, I would be in charge all the way, all day. Whoever ownѕ the Brooklyn Nets, get his aѕѕ up outta here.”

Can the Nets win the title without Kyrie?

If the Nets management trades Kyrie to get rid of the distractions he brings, can they contend for the title? Shaq believes James Harden and Kevin Durant could do it, plus if the team adds more shooters and rebounders.

Does Kyrie Irving have enough trade value in him that Brooklyn can get good assets in return? His penchant for not showing up in games, injury history, and refusal to get vaccinated would undoubtedly make other teams think twice about trading for him. Brooklyn mandates that athletes get vaccinated before they can play indoor games. If Irving remains adamant in his stance, he could miss several home games that could affect the Nets’ postseason chances.

What Shaq suggested was practical. Trading Kyrie would get rid of distractions before they snowball into problems. They should do it now if teams come knocking with good assets.
