Shaquille O’Neal responds to comments about being underappreciated: “I don’t control what earthlings say or believe”

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most dominant and successful players in recent decades and despite all of his accomplishments some people believe he underachieved to a certain degree. One of his biggest critics recently was Kobe Bryant who said if Shaq stayed in shape they could have won even more championships together. It’s true Shaq’s main concern at certain stages of his life wasn’t his basketball career but other things surrounding basketball, however, he was still the most dominant player in the league for over a decade.

In a recent interview on the show, Fair Game with Kristine Leahy Shaq gave his thoughts about feeling underappreciated by a lot of fans. Shaq in his own fashion said he doesn’t care what people think simply because of a fact he won several championships and won pretty much everything an NBA player can win, starting from various individual accolades and winning titles which he did four times in his career.

“I don’t ever think about it because I don’t worry about earthlings. My job was to fulfill a dream I had as a youngster and I did that. My job was to try and become one of the greatest players ever and I did that. My job was to become one of the most dominant players and I did that. My job was to win championships and I did that. You can’t control what earthlings say or believe.”
