Scottie Pippen thinks LeBron is not better than both Jordan and Kobe

The never-ending debate on whether LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan or even Kobe Bryant has been the main topic for discussion among NBA fans for the last couple of years.

Scottie Pippen was Jordan’s teammate for the majority of those successful years in Chicago and also played against Kobe Bryant in the later stages of his career. He thinks they’re both better players than LeBron James.

Pippen was hosted in ESPN’s show First Tak and shared his opinion on one of the most popular debates out there.

“When I look at LeBron, he’s not what Michael was as a player. He’s not even what Kobe Bryant was as a player. So when you talk about trying to compare Michael’s instinct, his ability to take over games, his ability to want to have the last shot, LeBron doesn’t have that gene. That’s not in him.”

Even though it’s impossible to compare players who played in different eras and under different circumstances, it’s always interesting to hear what some of the former players have to say when it comes to these types of debates. Scottie was able to play against Jordan daily in practice, and he faced Bryant on several occasions in the late ’90s. On the other hand, he never played against LeBron. That matchup would be intriguing to see simply because of Pippen’s defensive ability to stop pretty much any guards and forwards on a nightly basis.
