Russell Westbrook has reportedly agreed to a 10 year deal with Jordan Brand. This is said to be the most lucrative endorsement deal ever signed by a Jordan Brand athlete.
Although he committed to Jordan for the shoe deal, Russell Westbrook still has not decided if he will be committing to the Oklahoma City Thunder long term. The team offered him a 207 Million dollar extension this summer.
Westbrook has been with Jordan Brand since 2013 when he signed a five-year deal with the division after previously being with Nike. His current deal was set to expire next fall, and the pay raise reportedly kicks in retroactively to apply to last season. The new deal keeps Westbrook with Jordan Brand through 2025-26.
Westbrook has increasingly raised his profile each year that he’s been in the league, culminating with winning the NBA MVP award this year.
One cool part of the deal is that Jordan Brand will now embark on giving Westbrook his own shoe line for the first time. The shoe line will be for shoes both on and off the court. The off-court shoes should be interesting, especially given Westbrook’s unique fashion sense.
Westbrook’s coming off a historic season in which he averaged 31.6 points, 10.4 assists, and 10.7 rebounds to lead OKC to the postseason. With the shoe deal done and his book finished, the question now is if he will sign the huge extension OKC put on the table this summer.
