Ron Artest plans to release a documentary about the infamous “Malice at the Palace”

Malice at the Palace is known as one of the most vicious fights that have ever happened on the NBA hardwood and even to this day, there is still a lot of controversy surrounding it. According to Brian Mahoney from the Associated Press, Ron Artest is launching a documentary that will be shown the incident in this entirety for the first time during Showtime.

The documentary will be premiered on the 21st of May under the name the “Quiet Storm: The Ron Artest Story”. Apart from the actual footage of the fight between the players and fans that many have already seen, the documentary will also feature the interviews of the people who were involved the most in the incident.

The incident started with an altercation between Ron Artest and Ben Wallace, who were at that time considered to be one of the toughest players in the league. After his altercation with Ben Wallace, a fan stepped in and threw a cup filled with beer on Artest who immediately rushed to the stands and confronted the fans. In a matter of seconds, more fans and players got involved and pretty much the entire chaos broke out. Ron Artest who was one of the main characters during that event suffered one of the biggest fines in NBA history. He was suspended for the remainder of the 2004/05 season.

Artest was not the only one who received a fine afterward. Six Indiana Pacers players and four players from the Detroit Pistons were suspended after the incident. Apart from Artest who got suspended, Stephen Jackson and Jermaine O’ Neal also received serious suspensions after that game.

It will be interesting to see how other participants of this brawl, view this incident especially now almost 15 years after the event and if they have some other related stories they will share.
