The Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets are playing their first WCF game tonight, and nobody from the media expected the Nuggets to make it this far, especially after being down 3-1 twice so far in this playoffs. Jamal Murray was frustrated that none of the prominent NBA analysts gave Nuggets any chance of making it past the Clippers. The situation is pretty much the same, and the Nuggets are again underdog in the upcoming series against the Lakers.
Former NBA player Richard Jefferson made a guest appearance on the show ‘The Jump’, where he said that he is one of the rare analysts that thinks the Nuggets stand a chance. He believes the series will go to 7 games, but he gives them enough credit and respect to come out as winners.
The Denver Nuggets will win this series in 7 games. If they are tired of people not giving them credit, I will be the first one in the media to give you guys credit and say I believe you guys can make it to the NBA finals, and I believe it’s going to be done in seven games.Richard Jefferson, via The Jump
Jefferson understands where Murray is coming from and decides to give them a chance in beating the Lakers, who are playing with a purpose.
They have not given me any reason to doubt them thus far in the postseason, other than being down 3-1 a couple of times. I’m going to be the first one in the media to give them credit and say they can do it in seven.Richard Jefferson, via The Jump
The Nuggets are a resilient bunch, and they proved they can beat the top tier squads in the NBA. Whether that will be the case with the Lakers, it’s tough to tell, but they definitely deserve respect and have all the assets to present a real challenge for the Lakers.
