Pippen: “Zion Is The Best NBA Prospect Since Michael Jordan”

Last year a high school kid of the name Zion Williamson took the basketball world by storm, as his highlights caught everybody’s attention. It was mostly for his unreal athleticism and dunks, but this kid is more than a dunker.

The Duke 6-foot-7 forward is averaging 22 points and 9.2 rebounds in his freshman season, while Blue Devils are 18-2 on the season and one of the favorites to win the NCAA championship.

Zion is the probably a lock for the number one pick for the 2019 Draft, as he has caught the eye of a lot of NBA teams and the media, especially Scottie Pippen who was asked about his potential on ESPN’s The Jump, as he said that he is the best NBA prospect since Michael Jordan:

“I think he’s going to be a different player. I think he’s going to be a game-changer. And we’re going to see something special out of this kid,”

“I think he’s sort of the Charles Barkley throwback that you’re not going to be able to match up with him, in terms of meeting his physicality that he’s going to bring to the game,”

A pretty big compliment, especially coming from MJ’s former teammate. But it also puts a lot more pressure on him, as he is already being proclaimed the next LeBron or Jordan.

One is sure, at 6-foot-7 and 285 lbs, with his athleticism, Zion is already physically ready for the NBA. If he has the drive similar to MJ to improve his all-around skills and complete as a player, he may be the next big thing in the league.

Pippen’s Bulls are definitely in the running to get Zion with one of the worst records in the NBA, as it would be the perfect place for a storyline and the possible arrival of the new savior in Chicago. The best since MJ according to Pippen.

We will have to wait and see.
