Paul George after winning game 3 against the Mavericks: ‘We haven’t shown anything’

After losing two home games against the Dallas Mavericks, the Clippers managed to fight back in game 3, with a 118-108 win. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers to combine for 65 points, showcasing the competitive spirit and fight needed to pull off a much-needed win. The Clippers once again didn’t have an answer for Luka Doncic, who finished the game with 44 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Luckily for the Clippers, the rest of the Mavs had below-average scoring performances, which won’t happen again in this series.

That is something Paul George is completely aware of, and in an interview, after the game, he was still critical of the way Clippers approached this series. He is aware this win doesn’t mean much if they can’t overtake the series in their favor. George proclaimed they hadn’t shown anything so far in this playoff series, understanding they will need to repeat the same type of performance three more times.

We’ve yet to show anything. We’re down 2-1; we haven’t shown anything. We’re not the favorites; we’re not the defending champs. We haven’t shown anything. We gotta continue to keep doing it. We gotta win this series, but it’s 1 game at a time. We gotta win game 4, take home-court advantage, but we haven’t shown anything.

After the initial criticism for the Clipper’s cockiness coming into the series, it seems George and the rest of the squad changed their mindset for the remainder of this series. George is aware this win doesn’t mean that much if they can’t replicate the same success in the fourth game. The Mavs as a team played a horrible game, except Luka Doncic and Kawhi and George will need to produce the same type of numbers to potentially steal this series away from the Mavs.
