Pascal Siakam shares who is the toughest matchup for him in the NBA

Apart from Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry and Danny Green, Pascal Siakam has been the revelation for the Raptors and an important piece in their system so far this season.

In a recent podcast with Zach Lowe, Siakam shared a lot of things in regards to his childhood, the Raptors big move during the summer which involved the trade of DeMar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard but also an interesting view on who is the hardest player he had to guard in the NBA.

More precisely, Siakam had the opportunity to go head to head with LeBron James and Kevin Durant and there is a lot of difference in their style of play.

Siakam said his toughest matchup is against Durant because of the incredible length and shooting ability Durant possesses.

“Kevin Durant…his length, he can just shoot over you, he’s skilled. He can pull up from 30!”

He also said guarding LeBron is a bit easier because LeBron is mostly focused on getting his teammates involved and will assist more than Durant will on a lot of possessions.

The Raptors and Warriors played twice this season and Kevin Durant has been averaging 40 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Siakam was able to fully understand what it takes to go up against Kevin Durant during those games and based on what he said, Durant is an absolute nightmare if you’re facing him on the defensive end of the floor.
