Magic Johnson shares why Shaquille O'Neal wasn't better than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Several players in NBA history could be considered as the centers of all-time. Names like Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal, and Hakeem Olajuwon are just a few players that could take that title.

In one of his interviews, Magic Johnson also shared his thoughts on this topic when asked the questions whether Kareem was better than Shaquille in his prime. Magic played with Kareem for a decade and the dynamic duo won 5 NBA titles during that timespan so Magic might be a bit subjective on the whole matter of comparing these two legends.

Magic said had Kareem was one of the most versatile big men of all time who could effectively use both hands and had one of the most dominant careers in NBA history. Despite choosing Kareem over Shaq, Magic complimented Shaq for his size and great personality that came along with it which made him one of the most recognizable athletes of this time.

"I like Shaq but he was no Kareem Abdul Jabbar. This man could dominate you with both hands. When they have to change the game because of you that is greatness. We have to remember that Kareem won 3 NCAA championships in a row and it could have been 4 if freshmen were allowed to play. The man was so dominant. I like Shaq and he is probably the most dominant with his physical presence as you've ever seen in the game of basketball. He has a big personality and I love Shaq and I would put him right behind."
