LeBron James might be one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but even he himself is simply just a big fan of the game. James is very studious when it comes to basketball, and like all us fans, he has favorite players he came up watching. Who are the three best in the opinion of "The King"? He shared his answer back in 2013.
Back in 2013, LeBron did a Fox Sports interview the summer after winning his 2nd championship with the Heat. LeBron got asked the classic question about who his three best players of all time are, and safe to say, it wasn't an easy answer for James:
"Best three players of all time? Michael Jordan...Wow, this is tough. Dr.J. (Julius Erving), Larry Bird. You give me three. I was like, oh my god...Can I get four? I got Magic fourth.

Michael Jordan was the only clear choice for LeBron, as he said his name about three times before moving on to the next guy. A lot of comments noticed that and joked that MJ probably holds all three places in LeBron's top three.
But then James would name one of his favorite players growing up, Julius Erving. Dr. J's flashy style of play and look had a lot of young players of that time look up to him and try to emulate all the stuff he does on the court. LeBron was no different.
And to conclude the shortlist, LeBron would list Celtics legend Larry Bird. James expressed how hard it was for him to narrow it down to only three players, as he managed to slip in Magic Johnson's name at the end. You can't argue any of those names, as it's really hard to only select three guys from such an array of amazing NBA legends through history.
It would be interesting to see if LeBron still has the same three guys in his top three today. Considering he proclaimed himself the greatest basketball player of all time, maybe he would even find a spot for himself.
