“I don't mind Jordan not wanting me on the team. But Scottie Pippen?!?!”

Isiah Thomas not being on the Dream Team is one of the greatest injustices in basketball history. He clearly had to make the cut and later we learned that personal animosity between him and Michael Jordan influenced that decision. With time passed, seems Isiah got over it. At least when it comes to certain people.

We covered what Scottie Pippen and Clyde Drexler had to say about Isiah not being on the Dream Team here. It seems this is the kind of stuff that Isiah still has issues with. In an episode of Open Court, Isiah commented on the whole situation:

I don't mind Michael Jordan saying "I didn't want Isiah to be on the Dream Team." I don't mind if Larry Bird says "I don't want Isiah to be on the Dream Team." BUT IF SCOTTIE PIPPEN SAYS "I DON'T WANT ISIAH TO BE ON THE DREAM TEAM"?!? MAN, COME ON. YOU CAN'T SAY NOTHING. If Jordan says "I'm not playing if Isiah's playing", OK, alright. But Scottie Pippen "I'm not playing if Isiah's playing". Man, go to the park.

It seems Isiah's colleagues in the studio agreed with him that while there is some sense if the best players in the league (and ever in the NBA) don't want him there, that's fine. He (and some other players in the studio) all obviously believe Pippen wasn't a player of that caliber and that his comments about him not wanting Isiah on the team are blown out of proportion and Pippen trying to seem more important than he was.

Whatever the case may be, it was interesting to see Isiah comment on this with a healthy dose of humor. Here's the clip:
