Let's clear something up. No-one should learn shot selection by looking at Kobe Bryant game video. The man took an insane number of difficult shots when he had a passing option. The Spurs preach passing up a good shot for a better shot. Kobe wouldn't pass a bad shot by Kobe for a decent shot by a teammate a lot of times. 

The thing is, Kobe sincerely believed that the shot he was taking was better than passing the ball. That strength of conviction was what got him to 5 NBA championships, 2 Finals MVPs, one regular-season MVP and a long list of other achievements. That's why being a Laker in Kobe's era wasn't for everyone.
