Draymond Green reveals his all-time favorite Klay Thompson moment

It's not the 60 points on 11 dribles that makes it Draymond's favorite. It's the day before that makes it the ultimate Klay story.

Klay Thompson

Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have been teammates since the start of their NBA careers. They have won and lost together, so understandably, they know each other well. For Green, other teams should be more aware of Klay when he misses a practice.

Klay Thompson’s 60-point game

Green favorite Thompson moment was easily the 60-point game. It was historic and fun to watch, but what happened before that breakout game was a story worth telling. According to the Golden State Warriors forward, his teammate was late for practice the day before, and Klay chose not to attend at all instead of showing up late.

He woke up late. And so Klay is like, ‘I’m late. Go back to I’m late. Go back to bed. Don’t come to practice.’ And then the next day, it’s like his way of making it right. He comes out. He has 60 in three quarters. That has to be my all-time favorite moment because that is actually Klay and his attitude.

If Klay played poorly, he would have heard some words from his teammates or coaching staff but good thing he made up for missing practice. Scoring 60 points using just 11 dribbles in three quarters proved that Thompson was focused on scoring and shooting that night. That is a statement game making it clear that no matter if he missed practice, he could still deliver a big game which is bad news for the rest of the teams.

How Splash brothers bounce back from slumps

Shooters have off nights, and the Splash brothers are no different. Fans have been accustomed to seeing greatness from Klay and Steph Curry for so long that having off nights in a row seemed a strange thing for them.

When shots aren’t falling for Steph and Klay, they watch their highlights on Youtube. The only way for shooters to get going amid a slump is to shoot the ball. Sometimes, it’s just a mental thing, and remembering the rhythm and the feeling of seeing your shot hit nothing but the bottom of the net.

It only takes a little time for streaky shooters like Curry and Thompson to get their momentum going. Once that happens, the game is practically over even before the opposing teams adjust their defense.
