Even though that doesn't sound like a big surprise, Wilkins said the most memorable performance he ever saw came from none other than Michael Jordan

Former NBA player and Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins made a guest appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, in which he talked about things happening in the current NBA and the Hawk's chances in the playoffs. However, the most exciting part of the interview was when the host asked Wilkins about the single most extraordinary performance he had ever witnessed in his long and illustrious basketball career.

It was none other than Michael Jordan

Even though that doesn't sound like a big surprise, Wilkins said the most memorable performance he ever saw came from none other than Michael Jordan. Wilkins recalls a game in which he had 57 points against Jordan and the Bulls, which was one of the best games of his career, but that also triggered Jordan in a unique way in which he was immediately looking for revenge.

According to Wilkins, to everyone's surprise, Jordan walked into the Hawks locker room before their next game, walked over to Randy Wittman, and told him he would have a long night guarding him. Nobody knew what to expect next, but they would soon find out Jordan was ready to get his revenge on the Hawks.

The best performance I ever witnessed was playing against Michael Jordan, and I never had a player do this to me before. I think I had 57 in Atlanta, and we go back to Chicago a few weeks later. I remember Michael Jordan walks into our locker room before the game; we are still in suit and ties. He walks into our locker room, so I'm thinking maybe he is going to the training room or something. He walks by me, he walks by Kevin Willis, and he gets to Randy Wittman, slaps him on behind, and said 'Lace em up it's going to be a long night'. He then turned and walked out, and I was in shock.

He wanted to take your heart out

This specific revenge game against the Hawks came in as a 60-point performance that Dominique Wilkins will never forget. It's one thing talking trash with so much confidence, but to walk out of the opposing team's locker room while saying they are in for a long night is next-level confidence.

He had 60 that night. Even though he had 60 is the way he had it. It was electric and incredible to witness. He was so efficient as well as being an assassin, a killer out there on the floor. He wanted to basically take your heart out with every possession, and that is who he was.

Several stories similar to this one perfectly depict what type of competitor and trash-talker Michael Jordan was in his career. He and Wilkins had their share of epic battles throughout the years and were one, at one point, probably the greatest scorers and highflyers in the NBA. However, unlike Jordan, Wilkins never managed to win an NBA championship and remains one of the most underappreciated great players in NBA history.
