Nikola Jokic lets loose at the Main Square concert in his hometown, Sombor

The Joker sure knows how to relax.

When it comes to NBA glory, Nikola Jokic has proven his mettle as the MVP powerhouse, leading the Denver Nuggets to a first-ever championship victory. But right now, the towering center is dialing down the intensity, kicking back, and enjoying the vibrant aura of his beloved Serbia.

Jokic has been seen enjoying the festivities, dancing wildly, waving napkins, and savoring a glass of wine with an infectious spirit of celebration. This proves that regardless of his professional success, the joy of simple pleasures remains unmatched.

Jokic will not play in the FIBA World Cup

As mentioned, just over two months ago, Jokic's remarkable contributions led the Denver Nuggets to a resounding championship victory, and he walked away with the coveted Finals MVP trophy. However, amidst the celebrations, Jokic's decision to forgo participation in the upcoming FIBA World Cup for his native Serbia has ignited discussions, and even anger within the basketball community in his country.

With the FIBA World Cup now underway and Jokic absent from the court, Serbia undoubtedly feels the absence of one of its star players. He had a long and difficult season, and rather than diving straight back into the competition, The Joker chose to prioritize rest and recovery. The taxing NBA season takes a toll on players, and the Serbian star's decision to step back and recharge highlights the importance of maintaining peak performance through a careful balance of physical and mental well-being. However, Serbian supporters were extremely outraged by this choice, and the versatile center quickly went from hero to traitor.

Can Jokic win his third MVP?

As the spotlight shifts from the boisterous celebrations on the main square to the anticipation of the upcoming NBA season, Nikola Jokic remains a fascinating figure to watch. Just last year, he came tantalizingly close to securing his third consecutive regular season MVP, only to see the honor slip through his grasp as Joel Embiid claimed the accolade.

Now that the NBA season is once more on the horizon, it's a waiting game to see how Jokic will make his return. While he may have been spotted everywhere but the basketball court or the gym during his current revelry, the enigmatic center has proven time and time again that his unique approach to both life and the game of basketball captivates fans worldwide. From the beginning of the season, all eyes will be on Jokic to see how he'll navigate the delicate balance between enjoyment and readiness, and what surprises he'll bring to the court next.
