The season hasn't even started, but numerous headlines and stories have begun to emerge in the NBA, with the Ime Udoka one-year suspension being at the center of attention. The whole mess has brought a lot of controversy and debate in the NBA world, as everybody is sharing their view on the entire situation. Former NBA player Nick Young shared his opinion and told a crazy story from his rookie season, which shows just how different the league is now.

Strict rules

Nick Young was far from the biggest name during his playing days, but his comedic character, chill vibe, and ability to go off at any given night made him a sneaky fan favorite. One of the biggest stories Young found himself in wasn't even related to basketball -- it was his relationship with music star Iggy Azalea that ended with his teammate D'Angelo Russell videotaping him and basically snitching on his affairs.

Years later, Young can relate a bit to the Ime Udoka situation. As he explained, "men just get bored," and that's exactly was the reason behind Ime cheating on a woman like Nia Long.

Nick then even took it a step further, sharing a story from his rookie season in which he and teammate Andray Blatche also got involved with a female on the team, but with a vastly different outcome.

"It's the NBA rule. It happened to me when I was a rookie. Me and Andray Blatche we was messing around with one of the cheerleaders or assistant, and then they found out. When we came to the gym, they was blaming us, like it was our fault because she got fired. Can't do that."

Different league

The late 2000s'/early 2010s' Washington Wizards have to be one of the craziest, most dysfunctional, and fun teams ever. From Gilbert Arenas and his gun incident to the young guys like Young, Blatche, and McGee getting in all kinds of trouble, it was never a dull moment in Washington at that time.

This story about a cheerleader getting fired is just of the newer ones that perfectly fill the bill of those teams and how Young and Blatche lived their NBA lives. It's interesting to see how different that incident was handled back then, with the female getting fired behind closed doors, without Nick or Andray ever getting publicly involved in it.

Flash forward to almost 15 years later, and Udoka is suspended one year and possibly out of the league for his affair with a staff member, with the other side getting away free and their job/identity safe and sound.
