Kwame Brown and Gilbert Arenas

Kwame Brown had heaps of expectations on his shoulders being the No.1 pick by Washington Wizards in the 2001 Draft class. However, despite featuring in the NBA for more than a decade, he remains to be one of the worst-ever No. 1 picks in the history of the league. Perhaps that's why he was blatantly criticized by his former teammates in Matt Barnes, Gilbert Arenas, and Stephen Jackson.

The latest episode of The Pivot podcast was one occasion where the 40-year-old former NBA player lashed out at Gilbert Arenas and how he mistreated him during their 2-year stint (from 2003 to 2005) during their time with the Washington Wizards before Brown was sent away to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Brown said, I don’t wanna talk about that guy after he mentioned putting a pistol to my throat…He’s (Gilbert Arenas) definitely what’s wrong with our community because he’s a coward…Do you think Gilbert Arenas would say that about J.J. Redick?”

Why did Gilbert Arena hate Kwame Brown?

One of Gilbert's most famous incidents about Kwame is when the former called him ‘a locker room cancer.’ Another shot Arenas took at Brown was when he subtly hinted at how Kobe Bryant would never check his scoring output as Kwame would always have 0 points.

In a career that lasted for 12 years, Brown only managed an average of 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in a total of 607 games in that span. While he spent 4 seasons with the Wizards and 3 seasons with the LA Lakers seeking his best form, Brown was sent from one team to another as he miserably failed to showcase his talent on the NBA hardwood.

That being said, Arenas is known to be one NBA player who has blatantly criticized his teammates and peers in the past. So it' no surprise that Brown clapped back at him.
