When talking about some of the more relevant and controversial celebrity-athlete couples of today, you have to mention NBA center Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian. After all, Tristan has been such a horrible partner that even his teammates wouldn't back him up.
Basketball is #2 when it comes to Tristan's image
It's never good to be better known as a cheater and bad person than a basketball player. But that is precisely what has happened with Tristan Thompson over the past couple of years. Coming into the NBA as the 4th pick in the 2011 Draft, Thompson had a lot of promise.
He would actually play a major role in the 2016 Finals, serving as the enforcer and inside presence the Cavs desperately needed to beat the Warriors. It would help him secure the bag and earn a huge contract, but that seemed to be the end of Tristan Thompson as a relevant basketball player.
Ever since then, Thompson has been regressing in every way possible on the court, but he has still been making the headlines regularly. How so? He got involved with the infamous Kardashian clan, which took the career of so many NBA players.
Tristan got into a relationship with Khloe Kardashian and has a daughter with her, but it seems the relationship was never that serious for the NBA big man. Ever since then, Thompson has been involved in numerous affairs and controversies, getting caught cheating on his partner on camera and getting exposed for his infidelity.
Khloe forgave him a lot of times and took heat for her decisions, even though she was pregnant at the time, but Tristan never really changed and continued with his antics. The drama culminated when it was revealed Thompson was having a baby with another woman. That has made Thompson one of the most hated players in the world, and it naturally raised the question of how this will impact his performance on the court and the attitude of the locker room towards Tristan.
Thompson's former teammate Iman Shumpert recently spoke about that and confirmed it's all business on the court. But when it came to the off-court stuff, the whole team felt sorry for Khloe instead of trying to approve Tristan's behavior.
"I just think that, we just all felt for Khloe. She's cool, man. And I don't know what they got going on. I'm sure they speak. They grown, you know what I'm saying? They get things right. They do right by their shorties. But, it's just, man. It was sad. I remember feeling like that."

It's nice to see that Shump and the rest of the team didn't blindly back their teammate for disrespecting Khloe like that. We may not have heard it as it was happening, but it's obvious the locker room lost respect for Thompson, deservedly so.
