Enes Kanter

Is Enes Kanter Freedom a terrorist or a murderer? I don't think so, yet Turkey and its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are not on the same page as they have listed him on the 'most Wanted' list with a bounty of half a million for the head of the former NBA player.

The 30-year-old center, who took American citizenship in 2021, revealed that he learned about the $500,000 bounty a week ago. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his administration are offering a massive sum to everyone and anyone who can provide them with valid information for the capture of the former Boston Celtics player.

In his post on social media, Enes wrote, "Come and get it. Want to waste half a million, be my guest."

Why is Kanter Freedom is being hunted by the Turkish Government?

The 11-year veteran of the NBA called out his native country for their alleged assault on human rights. Enes Kanter Freedom then publicly called Turkish President Erdogan a 'dictator.' That wasn't all, the 30-year-old stepped on a photograph of him during a protest and even called him the 'Hitler of our century.'

Kanter stated that all his revelations are quickly known to the world because of his fame and reputation. This is something that the Turkish Government could not stand.

Is Enes Kanter Freedom safe?

Interestingly, Kanter isn't the first name on the Most Wanted list who has called out the regime of the Turkish President, who is known to defy human rights laws in the country regularly. In a list that contains some of the most dangerous terrorists and dissidents, Kanter has not only made everyone aware of the latest antics by Erdogan but even bluntly challenged him for putting a bounty on his head.

For those who are unaware, Turkey has over a dozen journalists on the same Most Wanted list as well, who only urged for a free press in the country.

According to Daily Beat, Enes Kanter Freedom has 24x7 protection to ensure his safety from the Turkish regime and potential attacks from the mafia or the drug cartels.
