Charles Barkley's beef with Skip Bayless: "I just want to get Skip Bayless in a room one time and beat him like a dog"

Charles Barkley is known around the NBA as someone who speaks whatever is on his mind without any hesitation what so ever. He is known for having verbal altercations with past and current players like he is now having with Kyrie Irving. He never liked the members of the media as well, and one of his most famous beef was the one with Skip Bayless back in 2017 when he used every single opportunity to blast him in the air.

Their altercation goes back to 2012, and before when Skip criticized some of the posts, Barkley was writing on his blog. These were personal, and Skip took offense to some of the things Barkley was writing about, which didn't sit well with Charles. When he hosted on The Dan Patrick Show, Barkley said he wants to kill Skip on national television.

"If I get a disease and I'm gonna die, how about you get Skip Bayless in here and I'll kill him live on national television" and went on to say, "Just get him in here. Only when I know, I'm gonna die…cause I just want to get Skip Bayless in a room one time and beat him like a dog."

On March 23rd, in 2017, Barkley said he hates Skip Bayless more than any person in the world and how he is happy he doesn't have to see him at all.

"I want to tell you the best thing you ever did. You know, because I hate Skip Bayless more than any person in the world? Thank you for giving me an alternative, so I don't have to watch Skip Bayless in the morning."

During the show Inside the NBA, Barkley elaborated that the reason why he doesn't like Skip Bayless is because of the way he shares his opinion on different sports. Barkley said the views that the commentators share are not universal, and they don't know it all, but in his opinion, Skip is someone who believes to know everything which frustrates Barkley.

"We all know I hate Skip Bayless. But Ernie listen, we don't know everything about ALL of these sports. We're paid to give our opinion; it's just our opinion. But you don't see me talking like "Well like this guy isn't a good football player, this guy isn't a good baseball player because you don't know anything about baseball or football just because you watched the game! I always preface my opinion with "in my opinion", because it's just in my opinion.

Skip never talked about the reason why there is such animosity between him and Barkley and even had several moments when he defended Charles as a commentator, especially when Barkley blasted LeBron James a couple of years ago. It's still quite unclear what is the reason behind their beef, but the most popular notion is that Skip Bayless often criticized players across different sports for better ratings, which is something Barkley doesn't like at all.
