It’s often said the NBA is one of the most progressive sports leagues in the world and today during his presentation, Adam Silver revealed how fans will buy NBA jerseys in the future.
The NBA is adding a new feature which will enable fans the possibility to customize their jerseys through an app. Adam Silver announced the news today at the All-Star Technology Summit in Charlotte. Ahmad Rashad joined Silver on stage for a presentation in which they explained how the app and the actual process work.

Fans will be able to customize their jerseys even after purchasing them and Silver used an interesting example during his presentation. He was able to alternate Stephen Curry’s number 30 into a 23 from Michael Jordan.
This is definitely an exciting project the NBA is working on. Adam Silver also mentioned a couple of other innovations NBA is trying to implement and they are related to facial recognition ticketing, hologram mascots and introducing virtual reality which will enable fans to have live access to games from their homes.
