NBA GM’s vote for the best center in the league and the results might sound surprising

The NBA season is starting in less than a week. Before the start of every season, there is a survey among NBA general managers where they give their opinion on everything that is happening around the league. They also share their predictions about teams for the upcoming season and how players are ranked depeding on the position they play.

One of the interesting aspects of this survey was the way how they ranked the best centers in the league. According to 48 percent of GM’s the best center in the league is none other than Nikola Jokic. Joel Embiid is second with 28 percent of votes while Anthony Davis was ranked third with 17 percent.

Even though Jokic had a brilliant season with the Denver Nuggets averaging 20.1 points, 10.8 rebound and 7.3 assists there was always a notion Embiid is the best center in the league. Embiid on the other hand had perhaps a better season statistically averaging 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

Even though they play the same position, Embiid and Jokic are two totally different players who use different things in their advantage. Embiid is a better defender but Jokic is a better playmaker and possibly the greatest passing center in recent NBA history. Jokic was one of the leaders last season in triple-doubles with 32 in the regular season and 4 during his playoff apperance. Both of them made the playoffs last season and are looking to take the next step this season. They are both still young and just reaching their prime which means we might even see better season from these two young stars.
