Michael Jordan delivers a heartwarming message for his “little brother” Kobe Bryant

A tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna was held today at the Staples Center. Among many other people close to Kobe who had a speech, Michael Jordan delivered a heartwarming tribute to Kobe and the legacy he left behind him. Kobe’s and Jordan’s careers were always linked together to a certain degree. Their approach to the game of basketball was unique, and there were numerous similarities in their game. That is why Jordan always considered Kobe as his little brother.

“Kobe was my dear friend; he was like a little brother. “Everyone always wanted to talk about the comparisons between he and I. I just wanted to talk about Kobe.

Jordan said his relationship with Kobe evolved throughout the years. When Kobe came to the league, he considered him as his younger brother, who wanted to know everything he could to get better.

“All of us have brothers and sisters, little brothers, little sisters who, for whatever reason, tend to get in your stuff. Your closet, your shoes. Everything. He was a nuisance if I could say that word. But that nuisance turned into love over a period of time. Just because of the admiration that they have for you. The questions, wanting to know every little detail.”

Kobe was extremely passionate about basketball, which was evident every time he stepped on the basketball court. That is one of the things Jordan admired about Kobe the most, so he took him under his wing and pointed him in the right direction.

“This kid had a passion like you would never know… “He wanted to be the best basketball player that he could be. “And as I got to know him, I wanted to be the best big brother that I could be.”

Michael Jordan ended the speech saying a piece of him died when he found out Kobe passed away. Even though he is gone, the inspiration will forever be remembered and the impact he had on the fans, his family, and the game of basketball.

“I am inspired by what he’s done and what he’s shared with Vanessa and his kids. When Kobe Bryant died a piece of me died.”
