Stephon Marbury presents a gloving basketball!

Where is Mr.Marbury these days?

After finishing his stellar NBA career with the 2008-09 Boston Celtics, for whom he appeared in only 23 games and averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 dimes per game, the Coney Island Finest migrated overseas to China!

There, over the course of the last eight years, Marbury has become a nationwide basketball icon, which is one of the integral parts of the historical timeline of the growing phenomenon of Chinese basketball.

In January 2010 Starbury landed and opened his ‘Chinese adventure’ wearing the uniform of Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons. Next season, the MVP of the 2010 CBA All-Star Game played for Foshan Dralions.

While creating the huge noise with his stellar CBA performances only in China but across the globe, Marbury again switched teams and in 2011 became the member of the Beijing Ducks.

During the course of the following six seasons in Chinese capitol Marbury won CBA Foreign MVP (2013) and CBA Finals MVP award (2015), while leading the team to win three CBA championship titles.

Marbury, who is one of only five US basketball players to receive Chinese permanent residence permit, concluded his CBA career with a 2017-18 episode with Beijing Fly Dragons, with a desire to finish his overall career in the NBA.

For mentoring his teammates and especially the younger players on all of his CBA teams he had earned the nickname Commissar (in the Chinese military dictionary a political commissar or political officer)!

Not only that Marbury has become the great ambassador of the game, but, he is the most recognizable US representative in China, a country which will host the greatest global sports event in 2019 – FIBA World Cup.
