LEBRON TALKS ABOUT LEADING the Lakers to the WCF after 10 years: “I know what my name comes with. It comes with winning.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are back in the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 10 years after beating the Houston Rockets 4-1 in the series. It was definitely a team effort from the Lakers, who could take control of the series and end it much sooner than anyone expected. Something that might not be so surprising is the fact LeBron James was once again the best player in this series, showing no signs of slowing down despite being 35 years old with a lot of mileage on his back.

After the game, LeBron spoke with the reporters about his opportunity of making it to the conference finals for the 9th time in 10 years, which is definitely proof of greatness and consistency rarely seen in NBA history. LeBron said his name is associated with winning, and that is something he brought to every team he played for in his career. His track record for success is remarkable, and LeBron believes that is the by-product of being taught playing the game the right way.

I know what my name comes with. It comes with winning, and I take the responsibility more than anything because I’m a winner and I’ve always been a winner from the first time I’ve played organized basketball. I was taught the game the right way from my little league coaches, and they taught me how to play the game and play for my teammates. It’s never about you, and a true definition of there is no I in team. I was able to win doing that and just learning the game from 9 years old until I became a professional. I won at every level, so I understand what comes with that.

LeBron James

LeBron averaged 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists per game, shooting extremely efficient from the field. He was able to control the tempo for the Lakers and made the right plays when his team needed him the most. The Lakers’ next challenge will be to beat either the Clippers or the Nuggets, who are playing game six tonight. There is a high probability we’ll see the western conference finals between the Lakers and the Clippers, which is something we all anticipated ever since the season started.
