“Yeah, it felt different, for me every time I change a uniform. It definitely feels different and will take a bit time to get used to.” That were LeBron’s words when asked about playing in the Lakers jersey for the first time. In their first preseason game, the Lakers lost to the Nuggets 124 – 107. LeBron played 15 minutes, scored 9 points on 2 – 6 shooting and added 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
Preseason is in no shape or form relevant as a barometer for the regular season. It’s here so teams can slowly gear up, start working on game shape and for the 10 – 15 players to try and earn some regular season minutes. That’s why Lebron saying: “Some of them did better than others, but we can work on it” is relevant. He is letting everyone on the team know he notices things, even in the preseason, so work hard. As we wrote before, this season is more of a journey than a destination for the young Lakers team where all veteran players are on one-year contracts.
The biggest change every LeBron teammate pointed out was not being ready for some of his moves, especially passes. His size and basketball IQ lets him hit you with a pass from angles most players have never experienced before and that was on display in the first game right away.

Lakers over-under is around 48.5 wins on most sites, an expectation that this Laker team will be 13-14 wins better than the one last year. LeBron’s history is irrelevant here as he only moved through the Eastern Conference. Not sure about the wins, but playoffs should be a given whenever you have LeBron on the team.
