LeBron: “Me and Kyrie are in a good place right now.”

When Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cavs after the 2017 NBA Finals, it seemed like his relationship with LeBron wasn’t in the best place, as he wanted to separate and create his own legacy.

His wish was granted, as he became the new face of the Boston Celtics, but it seems that as time has passed, these two guys smoothed things out and are creating rumors and speculations around the league with their statements.

Firstly Kyrie came out a few days after criticizing his younger teammates, saying he called LeBron to apologize because he now sees things from his point of view (via Bleacher Report):

Obviously, this was a big deal for me, because I had to call [LeBron] and tell him I apologized for being that young player that wanted everything at his fingertips, and I wanted everything at my threshold. I wanted to be the guy that led us to a championship. I wanted to be the leader. I wanted to be all that, and the responsibility of being the best in the world and leading your team is something that is not meant for many people.

[LeBron] was one of those guys who came to Cleveland and tried to show us how to win a championship, and it was hard for him, and sometimes getting the most out of the group is not the easiest thing in the world.

It became a topic that was pretty talked about, as LeBron talked about the call he had with Kyrie in a recent interview (via The Athletic)

“Yeah, we’re in a good place right now. Me and Kyrie are in a good place right now. I love the man that he’s becoming, I love the challenges he’s accepted and I always wish the best for him. We talked and it was a great conversation. He told y’all what he said.”

After Kyrie’s recent controversial comments about resigning with the Celtics this offseason and all of this going on, some would assume a reunion could be possible between LeBron and Kyrie. Who knows, but if it happens it sure would be great to see this duo back in an action together.
