If you would bet your money that Zion Williamson will be selected as the first pick in the upcoming draft this summer, there is a high probability you would win that bet. Zion is that type of young player that comes every decade and has the potential to be a multiple NBA All-Star one day.
Zion is a 6″7, 285 pound forward with a tremendous combination of strength and speed which has been rarely seen so far on the basketball hardwood. His game is still rough on the edges, however, his potential is enormous and if he lands with the right franchise in which he can learn and grow properly, his career will be a memorable one for sure.
LeBron James who is one of the players Zion is often compared to, said he had a chance to watch Zion play for the past year and sees the potential he has. In his show “The Shop” LeBron said he was able to see Zion’s dominance already in high school when he was playing against players who really weren’t a serious competition to him. Even though he didn’t win a championship in Duke, he continued to play phenomenal leading the team with an example.
“I watched him a lot over last year. Obviously, him coming out of high school I was like ok, all these competition he is playing against, these little short white kids he is dunking over every single time. Can he play ball? You know, one thing that I have noticed in his one year at Duke was that his energy was infectious. Every possession seemed like he can make a difference on the outcome of the game. He is the most talked about guy in a long time. “
