LeBron James on his role with the Lakers: “I will sacrifice my body, sacrifice for my team…It’s all about whatever it takes to help us win”

After the All-Star break, LeBron James said he is ready to take his game to the next level in order to help the Los Angeles Lakers secure a playoff spot this season.  At the moment things are not looking good for them since they are currently 10th in a very strong and competitive western conference. However, the team proved they were up for the challenge in the last night’s game against Houston Rockets.

The Lakers won 106-111 in a very close game, and at some point, they were even losing by over 15 points. LeBron James delivered his promise about raising up the intensity and he finished the game with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists in a direct matchup who was had a relatively quiet night. Harden finished the game with “only” 30 points but it’s worth mentioning he had 8 turnovers and was fouled out of the game.

After the game, LeBron was asked about his all-around performance and if his role will change within the team in order for Lakers to win more games and make the playoffs this season.

I’m just an all-around basketball player. You can’t give me a position, I’m just a ball player. Put me on the floor I will make plays, both offensively and defensively.  I will sacrifice my body, I will sacrifice for my teammates, being able to get to the lane and kick it out for three in the right corner, being able to take a charge, and also being able to get defensive rebounds.  Just to try and help us win ball games. It’s just all about whatever it takes to win the game.
