LeBron James has an important message for the kids: “You can’t want something but not put in the work”

LeBron James talked with the media today at the 2020 NBA All-Star Media day about several topics surrounding his career, the fans, honoring his friend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna who both tragically passed away. LeBron also gave a fundamental lesson for the youth that is listening out there on what is the secret recipe for success.

LeBron, who is extremely dedicated to perfecting his craft, puts in numerous hours on doing everything he needs to stay one of the best players in the NBA. He said it doesn’t matter what profession you are into, but if you spend hours on getting better, usually, that will materialize in one way or the other. James also believes it’s essential you love what you do because that will make the entire process of putting in the hours to get better a lot more fun.

“You can’t want something but not put in the work. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing in life. It can be a professional athlete; it can be an artist, doctor, the president of the United States. You have to put in the work. I think if you put the work in the results will happen organically and most importantly you have to find happiness too. If you’re having fun, enjoying what you’re doing, then it makes it so much easier. It makes it so much easier that you want to do it every day because it’s something you really enjoy doing. You don’t look at it as work.”
