LeBron James Ex-teammate explains why he is a basketball genius and a really good person

Despite being 34, LeBron is still one of the best players in the NBA right now, and the competition is perhaps fiercer than ever. In comparison to the last season, the Lakers surrounded LeBron James with a strong and very deep team that can actually make an impact next season. This will further motivate LeBron to bring his A game on and perhaps win a championship for a third team in his career.

Even after 15 years in the NBA, it’s astonishing to see LeBron is not slowing down and at the time he looks better than he did 10 years ago when he was still a young player coming up and making a name for himself in the NBA. According to Lance Allerd who was LeBron’s teammate back in 2007/08 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, people don’t understand what kind of player they are able to witness play on a nightly basis.

Lance Allerd believes LeBron is a type of an athlete that comes once in a lifetime, simply because of his athletic ability and intelligence on the basketball court that sets him apart from every other player out there.

“He is the most gifted athletic specimen we may have ever seen. I am a big Stephen Curry but I don’t think Steph can go to any team and make them a championship contender. LeBron is the only person in the world that can do that because he is athletic enough and he is smart. People have to realize that it’s not just pure athleticism but the guy is just brilliant, he is a genius. For the last 10 years or so LeBron has led the league in hockey assists. He creates the pass that leads to an assist so he sees the floor, he sees everything. At the same time, he is so big, gifted and talented that he can create spacing for himself.”

Allerd also remembers when LeBron gave him his own shoes after he saw the shoes he had on and said this is something you don’t usually expect from a superstar like LeBron. He also mentioned the fact LeBron is truly a good person who cares a lot more about winning than what people actually think.

“He was actually very kind, he gave me a pair of shoes when I was called up. He saw my NBA development league sneakers and asked me what shoe size I am and I told him it’s 14,15. Since we’re wearing the same shoe size he gave me one of his shoes. He is also a good guy and that is why you can see him laughing and smiling a lot but he cares about winning.”
