In terms of offensive juggernauts, some would argue that’s one of the greatest collections LeBron will go up against. Some would even go so far as to say they are the best offensive ensemble the NBA has ever seen. However, LeBron isn’t ready to put the new-look Nets above another group — one which deprived him of two straight championships in ’17 and ’18.
Um, have we forgot about KD, Steph, and Klay already? I mean, there you go. There you go right there.LeBron James
James refused to jump to conclusions, especially since the ’17 Warriors are universally recognized as one of the greatest offensive teams in NBA history. And fairly so. They are tied with the ’87 Lakers for the best offensive rating in NBA history at 115.6, with two of the greatest shooters ever and arguably one of the best offensive players ever.
The latter is a common denominator for both the Warriors and the Nets. LeBron’s once again surrounded by the NBA’s elite offensive performers, and 17 games into their run together, they’re displaying an all-time great level of offense. In fact, since Harden joined Kyrie and KD in Brooklyn, the Nets’ offensive rating is at 122.6, which would be the best of all time.
It’s still a small sample size, but if they keep it up, LeBron might have to reconsider his stance on the greatest offensive team he ever faced. We’ll see how LeBron feels after Thursday’s showdown — a matchup the Lakers’ superstar is excited about.
It’s always exciting for me to go against some of the best guys in the game — and they got three of them. They got three of the best guys in the game. Definitely would love to be full when you’re playing against a team like that and see, like, at that point in the season, how you match up — how you match up against some of the best teams in the league. And, obviously, we won’t be full on Thursday. But, other than that, yeah, I love going out there and just being out on the floor with some of the best to play this game.LeBron James
The Lakers will be without Anthony Davis, who suffered a calf strain and aggravated the Achilles tendinosis in his right leg. That’ll make the Nets’ scoring job much easier. Enough for LeBron to put them closer to the ’17 Warriors offensive firepower-wise? We’ll find out on Thursday.
