“It’s only a crazy dream until you do it.” That’s how Nike’s new billboard for LeBron captures his move to LA. If you had to explain his career just in images these billboards would be the perfect way to do it. Each of these captured the narrative of his journey. LeBron always spoke highly of Magic and MJ and how they built an empire outside of basketball. All his business ventures show he has a plan for himself after the NBA and LA was the logical step for a man who already has so much invested in the entertainment business.

There is also that little swoosh to remind you who’s team LeBron is playing for. Don’t forget, these were not Cavs and Lakers billboards. These were Nike billboards. LeBron always talked about their relationship and support he got from Nike. From his days at St. Vincent-St. Mary when Nike furnished their gym and weight room to today, another sign of LeBron developing his business network.
As one era started, another ended. His Cleveland billboard was taken down. This departure was much better than the first one, leaving after winning a title and not breaking everyone’s heart on national tv is a good way to go. Maybe there will be a time when he gets it again in Cleveland. Owning a team is something LeBron is surely interested in, and Dan Gilbert is not the most popular man in Cleveland or in the NBA. Cavs owner LeBron James? Deosn’t sound bad.
