The news that Anthony Davis got traded to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart and a couple of first-round picks brought a lot of attention from the media. Some think that was a good move by the Lakers and of course there are some who believe the Lakers should have kept their young core together for a longer period of time.
LaVar Ball is one of those people who was pretty unsatisfied with the whole deal because it involves his son Lonzo who after two seasons with the Lakers, didn’t show the progress that would convince the Lakers management to keep him. LaVar was asked about the whole deal and in his own recognizable fashion said the Lakers will never win anything again.
“As I said, I guarantee it will be the worst move the Lakers ever did in their life and they will never win another championship, guaranteed. They are going to regret it and I am going to have fun with it because I told you it will crush down. Now it’s completely crashed but at least my son got off the boat before it all exploded. I gave them a chance and said if you get the three Ball brothers, you might even survive this. If you let them go, it’s going to be a cold day in hell. I don’t care where Lonzo plays and like I said, I want him to be healthy and I want him to play and it’s better for him to go somewhere where you can play and do your thing and be that guy instead of having all these question marks behind you.”
