LaVar Ball explains why LeBron will never be the GOAT over Jordan ‘It’s always going to be Michael Jordan.

LaVar Ball made a guest appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, and one of the things he touched upon was the most popular debate on who is the GOAT in the NBA. It’s a well-known fact Shannon is a great LeBron James admirer, so when LaVar gave his opinion on why LeBron doesn’t belong in this conversation, you could’ve seen he wasn’t so so happy with the response he received.

However, LaVar himself has a lot of admiration for LeBron and believes we’ve never seen a player like him so far in NBA. With his combination of size, strength, explosiveness, and overall high basketball IQ, LeBron made a strong case as the GOAT, especially after winning his 4th NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.

The staff LeBron does, nobody has been that big and strong. It’s like saying Karl Malone; I need you to go out there and play the point. That ain’t gonna happen because he doesn’t have the skills like that. Same thing with Magic; you are big, but you ain’t 260 like LeBron, and you ain’t jumping like that. He is a monster.

Despite all of his accolades and achievements, LaVar believes there is only one reason why LeBron is not the GOAT or even a greater player than Michael Jordan. The fact Michael Jordan was able to win in every NBA finals he ever participated in with the Bulls makes him untouchable in the GOAT discussion. On the other hand, LeBron has more losses than wins in the finals, which in his mind is not enough to belong in this conversation.

But how do you measure the greatest of all-time? You measure it by victories and what you did in those victories. I ain’t talking about 12 rings and being on five different teams. I’m talking about the dude that went to the finals, who was the main guy six times in a row, and if you can’t beat that, having losses on your record, you can’t be the greatest of all-time. That dude doesn’t have any losses in the finals. So it’s always going to be Michael Jordan.

LaVar made some valid points about LeBron in these never-ending debates on the GOAT. While appreciating everything he accomplished and the type of player he is, LaVar’s comment about LeBron having a losing record in the NBA finals compared to Michael Jordan is one of the strongest arguments in these types of discussions. However, this subject is based on personal preferences, and everyone will have their point of view on which player deserves to be called the GOAT.
