Westbrook and Nurkic exchange insults after the game

Last night the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Portland Trail Blazers 114-123 in an important game for both teams. The division rivals are both in the hunt for one of the top spots in the Western Conference standings, as it sparked some trash talk between the two teams.

Firstly Russell Westbrook and Jusuf Nurkic got into a laughing competition after Nurkic blocked Westbrook. Then near the end of the game, the two star point guards Westbrook and Lillard exchanged a few words after Russ sealed the game with two monster dunks.

But the talking wouldn’t stop on the court. In a postgame interview, Westbrook was asked how he felt about battling over the screens of Nurkic. He quietly called him a clown under his breath, as he asked for another question.

Nurkic, who is also known for being pretty talkative, was not going to let that slide, as he replied to his statement by calling him “Westbrick.” Nurkic was referring to Westbrook’s shooting struggles this season. Westbrook has been abysmal this season, as he is shooting 41.5 % from the field, 24.2% for three and 65,5% for the free throw line.

Nurkic had a good game with 22 points and 15 rebounds, but in the end Westbrook got the last laugh, as he recorded 29 points,14 assists, and 10 rebounds, with the help of Paul George and his 36 points in a Thunder victory which helped them to remain in front of the Blazers in the Western Conference standings
