“This is your job! LeBron should be disappointed in this.” — Reggie Miller blasts Anthony Davis’ offseason effort

“Why are YOU taking time off? He only played, what, 45-50 games this season?”

Anthony Davis did not have a great season, so everyone expects him to be working his ass off in the gym, but that has not been the case so far. AD admitted he had not touched a ball in more than two months. Lakers fans started expressing concerns that their supposedly best player isn’t as locked in. Legend Reggie Miller also gave his thoughts on the topic and blasted The Brow.

“This is your job!”

Davis claimed in a video that he hadn’t touched a basketball “probably” since April 5. It was later revealed that Anthony spends some time away from the court to get his mind off it and then goes back to it and divides the last 12 weeks of the offseason doing weights and skill training. Without this context, it’s easy for fans to misunderstand his statements. Meanwhile, Reggie Miller shared his thoughts in an interview on the Dan Patrick Show. The sharpshooter expected AD to be better.

“Saying it. This is your job! This is why the Lakers were in the predicament that they were. Has LeBron come back and said ‘Dude, what the hell??’ LeBron should be disappointed in this. LeBron is in the front yard of his house shooting with his kids right now.”

LeBron James was also busy minding other stuff than basketball this summer. He was seen watching football games and hanging out with friends. However, The King also uploaded a video where he was shooting with his sons in the front yard. Miller claimed that if James could do it, then Davis has no reason not to.

Time to bounce back

Everyone is expecting the Lakers to bounce back big time next season. The players are expected to improve individually, with a new coach in Darvin Ham trying to lead them back to playoff glory. Health remains a crucial factor, but there are no excuses when everyone in the lineup is injury-free. Getting in top shape should be a priority for veterans, especially AD, James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Russell Westbrook, this offseason. They are paid millions to deliver what is expected of them on the court.

Miller added that he went back to training after two or three weeks during his playing games. The former Indiana Pacers star lamented that Davis isn’t maximizing the talents and opportunities to become better.

He’s missed a lot of games. Why are YOU taking time off? He only played, what, 45-50 games this season? He’s already an all-time great and he’s already won a championship – you have an opportunity to become one of the GREATEST players and playing for one of the greatest franchise.

LeBron James is in the last few chapters of his career. The Brow must maximize that window to help deliver another title to the city. It’s not often you get to play with James, so AD must make sure to be the best version of himself to make the most out of James’ remaining playing years.
