The 2022-23 NBA season is just around the corner, and teams have started their preseason bouts in anticipation. A couple of weeks before the season opener is usually when many predictions are thrown around – both about franchises and individuals.

One of the most exciting predictions is from the NBA General Manager’s survey, which predicted the Brooklyn Nets as favorites last season. However, the General Managers have not turned a blind eye toward Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ambitions.

Milwaukee Bucks are title favorites for 2022-23

The Milwaukee Bucks received 43% of the votes, putting them ahead of the Golden State Warriors (25%) and LA Clippers (21%) as title favorites. The Bucks are followed by the Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers in the East regarding the conference champions. In the West, the Clippers have a better prospect than the defending champions at second – with the Phoenix Suns finishing third.

The Bucks are rightfully front-runners, given the way their roster is built. They have Giannis leading the pack with many role players who fit into their system. Jrue Holiday has consistently improved his value to the team, specifically with his deep game. All that put together, along with Khris Middleton healthy, puts them in a strong position to start the season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo tops multiple categories

The NBA General Managers have rightfully recognized Giannis’ talent, which is visible in the voting for individual categories. Regarding votes for the 2022-23 MVP, Giannis received 34% of the votes – finishing second behind Luka Doncic (48%).

However, their votes admitted that he would be a player to build a franchise around. The GMs gave Giannis 55% of the votes in that category, while Luka Doncic finished second with 45%. Giannis has also been named the best power forward in the NBA, with 86% of the votes.

Antetokounmpo’s defensive prowess has also been recognized, given he got 48% of the ‘Best defender in the NBA’ votes. He also bagged the ‘Most versatile defender’ votes, putting him ahead of Draymond Green and Bam Adebayo.

Giannis ranked first in the ‘Most versatile player in the NBA’ category and topped the ‘Best international player’ votes as well – ahead of Nikola Jokic and Luka.
