Tracy McGrady is going to be inducted into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame

Tracy McGrady, already a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, will be inducted into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame on March 20. The Orlando Magic announced today they would induct the retired superstar into their Hall of Fame ahead of their game against the Toronto Raptors. McGrady will be the fourth player in Orlando's HOF - joining Nick Anderson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Penny Hardaway - and the seventh inductee overall.

The Florida native spent four seasons with the Magic and averaged 28.1 points, seven rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.5 steals over 295 games, collecting two scoring titles and the 2001 Most Improved Player award. He still holds the highest scoring average in a Magic uniform.

"We are extremely excited to continue our tradition of honoring those who made the most significant contributions to our history with the induction of Tracy McGrady into the Magic Hall of Fame," Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said. "Home-grown in Central Florida, T-Mac wowed us with his talent on a nightly basis while making compassionate contributions in the community."

Highest scoring average in Orlando's history

McGrady's scoring average of 28.1 points per game while playing for the Magic remains the highest in team history, ahead of Shaquille O'Neal's 27.2 points per game. His 62-point night late in the 2003-04 season still stands as the highest point total for a Magic player in a game.

It's fitting that his following honor will come before Orlando's game against Toronto, where he started his career in 1997 and spent three seasons.

The seven-time All-Star retired after the 2011-12 campaign. He currently serves as an NBA analyst for ESPN and as a special assistant to Martins.
