Steve Kerr shares an update on Draymond Green’s punishment

This is a lot less than most people expected.
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green talks to head coach Steve Kerr

Steve Kerr and Draymond Green

Everyone interested in the NBA has been wondering what Draymond Green's sanctions will be for punching his Golden State Warriors teammate Jordan Poole earlier this month.

It seems that he will go relatively unscathed, as coach Steve Kerr stated that Green will not be suspended and will be fined an undisclosed amount.

Return to the lineup

The mercurial Warriors forward said he would be stepping away from the team for a while earlier this week. However, according to Kerr's recent announcement, Green will be back with the squad as early as Thursday. In addition, the four-time All-Star will play in Golden State's season opener on Tuesday.

For the organization and its fans, Green's return certainly comes as good news. The Warriors are looking to make another title run after winning the championship last season, in which Green and Poole played significant roles.

Poole moving on

One of the questions that have arisen from the altercation is Poole's reaction to the incident.

However, according to Kerr, the 23-year-old rising star was involved in the decision-making process, and he is ready to move forward.

Of course, not everyone is a fan of the severity of the punishment.

Some of them recall how Bobby Portis was suspended for eight games for punching his then-teammate Nikola Mirotic. Portis even recently brought up that his situation was different from that of Green's as he was "simply defending" himself.

Even so, the Warriors seem intent on putting the event behind them and focusing on fighting for the title once more.
