Space Jam 2 Casting Rumors Include a List of NBA Stars

With the summer in full swing and filming about to start, it seems that Space Jam 2 rumors are begging to circulate, as the cast is slowly beginning to be revealed.

The sequel to the classic ’90s hit Space Jam featuring Michael Jordan is set to have a part two, as now LeBron James is going be the one to lead the Looney Tunes against the aliens.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the cast will feature NBA stars like Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike amongst others.

The opinions about the apparent cast are divided, as some of the biggest stars turned down the offers, but a lot of people are also satisfied with the choice of players for now.

The original in 1996 featured a lot of stars alongside the hero Michael Jordan, with names like Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Larry Johnson, and others.

It seems that the sequel will also try replicating the movie as much as they can with as many stars of the basketball world they can get to satisfy the fans and create a film worthy of being a sequel to such a classic.

The filming begins this summer, as the movie set to hit the theaters on July 16, 2021.
