Skip Bayless destroys Ja Morant’s Michael Jordan take: "You have no idea what you’re talking about"

After saying he could beat Michael Jordan in a one-on-one, Skip Bayless fires back at Ja Morant and put him in place with a cold take.

Skip Bayless had to give Ja Morant a piece of his mind after his ridiculous take

Skip Bayless thinks Ja Morant went a bit overboard with his Michael Jordan take. The veteran commentator put the Memphis Grizzlies guard in his place by questioning Morant’s accomplishments last year.

You have no idea what you’re talking about

Michael Jordan’s name is revered in the basketball universe. You don’t tarnish or drag his name in conversations to make you look like you’re the man, especially if you still haven’t won anything. But Ja Morant is different. He claimed he could beat Jordan, and it wouldn’t be a close fight.

The high flyer added he would pick himself every time against anyone. What Morant forgot to consider is there are levels to this. You don’t go straight to the alpha dog. Skip Bayless had to give him a piece of his mind after his ridiculous take.

“Maybe you cook for Michael Jordan, but you’re not cooking Jordan. You have no idea what you’re talking about. You have to love the confidence but when it goes completely over the edge into delusional overconfidence, supreme overconfidence, it’s just hard to swallow.”

Skip spares no one, and he’s money on this one. Ja is a good player, but there’s no way he could beat MJ in any alternate universe.

Michael Jordan vs Ja Morant

There’s no way Morant would win over MJ in the hypothetical match-up. Yes, he could score, but he also has to play defense against the Chicago Bulls legend. So Mike would have a field day posting up Morant and use his upper body strength to bulldoze his way to the paint.

When it comes to defying gravity, Ja could give His Airness a run for his money, but jumping isn’t all there is. Jordan had a more refined offensive game than last season’s Most Improved Player.

Bayless is right. Ja Morant has not won anything for Memphis. He needs to continue working hard and don’t say anything that would make him look borderline stupid. The Grizzlies even won many games without him on the court.

Morant has a bright future and has a chance to become an all-time great. But he needs to stay focused and healthy. He already got supreme confidence. Now, the hard part starts: backing up his claims and not getting drowned in the hype.
