Even though he is doing remarkable and even historic things by averaging a triple-double for the entire season, Russell Westbrook was always scrutinized by the media and even some fans because of his style of basketball.
There are nights when Westbrook struggles shooting from the field, however, he makes that up doing pretty much everything else for his team whether that is rebounding, assisting or providing incredible energy both ends of the floor.
In an interview today, Westbrook was asked by the reporters about the criticism he is receiving for his playing style and he simply said he never actually cared about it ever since he started playing basketball at an early age.
I've been disengaged from those conversations when I started playing basketball when I was 8 years old. I've been blessed with the talent not to give a fuck. Regardless of what happens, it doesn't change how I live, doesn't change how I think, it doesn't change anything. I have an unbelievable family, great friends, unbelievable life, unbelievable job, make a lot of money from my job. I'm extremely blessed, humbled, thankful. I haven't been in trouble since I don't cause trouble. I'm perfectly fine and living the best life so I can't complain. Whatever they say about me, I don't really care and every year they have to make up something about me which is fine. One thing I always know is that if they aren't talking about you it means you are not doing something right.
