Pippen reacts to Draymond calling himself the best defender ever

Following the Game 2 win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Western Conference Finals, Draymond Green was asked about who he thinks is the best defender ever. As expected never shy on confidence Draymond told them without any hesitation answered he is the best ever.

It obviously sparked some conversations, and on ESPN’s “The Jump” Scottie Pippen, one of the best players and defenders ever made the argument that Draymond Green cannot claim he is the best defender ever:

"He's more of a great team defender than an individual defender ... He's not the guy you put on your best player, so how can he consider himself the best defender ever? ... I never saw him guard LeBron James [in the Finals]."

Never the less Scottie still complimented Draymond as a tremendous defender, but still said he is more of a team defender that thrives in the Warriors system and doesn’t have to guard the opposing team best player.

If someone knows what he is talking about when it comes to defense, it is definitely Scottie Pippen who in his time was the idea of the ultimate defender with his size and speed.

Draymond is obviously one of the best defenders in the NBA today but still is nowhere near being eligible to claim for himself that is the best defender ever, as names like Dikembe Mutombo, Scottie Pippen, Kawhi Leonard and many more are out there.
