Nikola Mirotic decides to leave the NBA

mirotic

Nikola Mirotic who played for the Milwaukee Bucks last season decided to make a dramatic change in his career path and is leaving the NBA. He plans to join Barcelona, one of the most prominent teams in EuroLeague and it seems he will leave a 45 million, three-year deal that the Utah Jazz offered him. There were actually several teams in league interested in his services but the Utah Jazz was ready to make the first move.

The first information was that the contract Barcelona offered him was worth $79.7. million over six years which would be by far the biggest contract in Euroleague history. Afterward, there was very different information in which it's noted that the contract from Barcelona is 7 million over two years.

Nevertheless, of the numbers in the contract, it's a bit strange Mirotic decided quit his career in the NBA. At the age of 28, last season he averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds shooting very efficiently from the floor.

Mirotic who is a big guy with a reliable outside shot would help a lot of teams in the league because of his ability to stretch the floor. It will be interesting to see how will Mirotic adapt to European basketball and play for a team that hasn't made it into the top 4 of the competition since 2014. With Mirotic onboard their chances of being a serious contender dramatically increased.
